Who publishes Gold Pound Ledger and what it measures

Gold Pound Ledger is an independent editorial desk. It measures one thing: the price of a pound of gold in Ghana cedis, taken from named public sources and republished with the date and hour it was read.

What this site measures

Gold Pound Ledger publishes the Ghana Gold Board's approved purchase price for the latest window, stated per pound. The gram and ounce rows follow from the same London Bullion Market Association price and cedi reference rate; the weight of a pound is not published and is worked out from the figures. The sources are named under every table, with a link, so a reader can check the figure at its publisher.

The measurement is a record of what those named sources showed at the stated time. It is not a live market feed and it is not a promise of what any buyer or seller will pay. The desk reads the sources, works out the pound figure, and publishes the result with the date and the hour. A reader who wants the latest figure should look at the source itself, because the page only shows what was read at that moment.

How the measurement is taken

The desk takes the Ghana Gold Board's approved purchase price for the latest window as the price per pound. The gram and ounce rows are derived from the same LBMA price and the cedi reference rate; the pound weight is worked out from those figures. The desk reads the sources, checks that the figures are complete, and publishes them with the date and the hour they were read. The table is a snapshot, not a live stream.

A figure that is wrong is corrected and the correction is dated. The desk does not promise that every figure is right first time, but it does promise that when a reader writes to point out an error, the desk will check it against the source and correct the page if the source shows something different. The address for that is the one on the contact page, and it exists for corrections.

What the desk does and does not do

The desk is responsible for what appears on these pages. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. The desk reads the sources, works out the pound figure, publishes it with the date and hour, and answers corrections. Nothing on the site is investment advice, a recommendation or an offer; the figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do.

The desk cannot answer questions about what a reader should buy or sell, or whether the price will rise or fall. It cannot give a forecast, and it will not print one. A reader who wants advice should ask a licensed adviser, not this site. The desk's job is to publish the measurement and to correct it when it is wrong.

What the site collects and what it earns

The site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics and stores nothing in the reader's browser. The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs; the site's publisher does not read a reader's personal data out of them.

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link, and is paid a commission if a reader opens an account there. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy, and following the link leaves this site. Writing to the address on the contact page reaches the desk, and the address exists for corrections.
